Sunday school is just one of the many ways FUMC-Allen lives out its mission and strives toward its vision. Each Sunday morning, children are taught the great stories of the Christian faith. Together, we lay the foundation that will help our children apply these stories to life and their relationships in their families, with their friends, in the community, and in the world,
both now and in the years to come.
How Does a Sunday Morning Flow?
In our elementary-age groups, FUMC uses a rotational Sunday school model. This works much like it does at school where kids move from class to class for different activities. We have four different stations that provide a variety of ways for kids to explore the Bible together. Each week all of the children gather in Graceland (upstairs in the Children’s Wing) for an opening celebration. They are then divided into small age groups, where they move to two Bible exploration stations. Each scripture and theme lasts for two weeks. The kids participate in two centers each week, and complete all four stations in two weeks. Our goal is to help children have real experiences that lead to a strong personal connection to Jesus Christ and to the Bible.
Sunday Morning Schedule
All elementary age children check in at the welcome table upstairs at the entrance to the Children’s Ministry area. They pick up their name tags and go to their groups. Arrival activities are planned at each group space.
