Honduras Mission Trip July 2007

Ten of our church members traveled to Honduras in June to serve the people on the Miskito Coast.  Zack Thomas, Barton Black, and Tom Brian stayed one week, while Katie Page, Joseph Bush, Lauren Yucuis, Marilyn Tucker, Meagan Tucker, Lindsey Tucker and Mike Tucker stayed two.  Our group ran the House of Hope, a home for partially disabled children and malnourished babies, so that House of Hope employees could take a vacation.

Mike Tucker and Barton Black cooked three meals a day for about 50 people.  They also tilled a garden by hand, and Barton planted the seeds he had brought from Texas. Zack worked nonstop doing much needed maintenance on the doors of the house. He built shelves for the school, repaired shelves throughout the building, and finished many other projects.  Marilyn, Katie, Lauren, Meagan, and Lindsey shared the day and night shifts feeding, changing diapers, and holding sick babies.  Joseph took the kindergarten children to school and then picked them up; and he also assisted Zack as his helper. 

The entire group loved, played, and shared the love of God with the children.  Thank you.
