Any man who is a member of FUMC-Allen is welcome to become a member of the United Methodist Men, FUMC-Allen group. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome. The UMM’s mission is to promote Christian fellowship among the men of the church and be of service to the church and the community in a variety of projects.
On the second Sunday of every month, except May, the UMM hosts breakfasts for the men of the church. Breakfast is served at 7:30am in the church's Fellowship Hall. In February, the UMM sponsors a Valentine’s Sweetheart Luncheon celebrating LOVE. Gentlemen of the church are invited to bring their sweethearts to share in fellowship, food and a program.
In 1996, Keep Allen Beautiful initiated the Adopt-a-Highway program in Allen to involve citizens in the stewardship of public land and to send motorists a consistent message about preventing litter. This is an extraordinary private-public partnership that benefits all citizens by cleaning and beautifying roadways. The program has reduced roadside litter by 52% since its inception. It significantly reduces litter cleanup costs, thereby saving taxpayers' money. The UMM has adopted Bethany Drive between Highway 5 and U.S. Hwy 75, and meets once a month.
The UMM also participates in various mission projects and sponsors various fund-raisers during the year including a Rare Antiquities/Garage Sale which is held on the church’s parking lot. Each December, collected funds are allocated to worthy projects within the church and community as determined by the Membership and Officers of the UMM.
