Lenten Sermon Series 2008

Extreme Grace

Grace is God’s unmerited love and forgiveness offered to humanity.

We find that we live in a world of ungrace. People refuse to offer and receive this grace, the greatest gift offered to us and the greatest gift we have to offer the world. Yet, the Church sometimes finds itself reluctant to offer this grace to humanity.

This series leads us to various places in our life where grace is the only thing that can redeem us. We’ll explore places where the Church fails to offer grace and be the living witness to the grace of Jesus Christ.

As part of the series, we invite the congregation to read Philip Yancey’s book, What’s So Amazing About Grace?, to help us explore our views on grace and challenge us to deepen the role of grace in our lives and the need for more grace in a world of ungrace.
