Where is the church located?
FUMC Allen is located at 601 S Greenville Ave Allen, TX 75002 with entrances from both Greenville Ave and S Jupiter Rd. You can telephone us at 972.727.8261. Our FAX number is 469.854.3701.
What are your office hours?
Office hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9:00am-1:00pm on Fridays. During office hours, please enter the church through the east entrance.
When are your worship services?
Sunday worship is at 8:15am for our DayBreak worship, 9:30am for traditional worship, and 11:00am for contemporary worship. On Wednesdays, we have a Holy Communion and Prayer Service at 6:30pm in the Upper Room Chapel. For more about what to expect at worship, visit our page on this site, What to Expect .
Do you have a preschool?

Does FUMC Allen have a social media presence?
FUMC Allen is plugged in to the world of social media through Facebook (facebook.com/fumcallen) and Twitter (@fumcallen). We also post videos on YouTube.
Our goal is to help connect people in an online forum and share the social resources of the church as well as generate feedback and conversations with others beyond our church walls.
Do you have any newsletters? How do I subscribe?
Each week, we send subscribers an email called "This Week at FUMC Allen," via a service called Constant Contact. This weekly newsletter includes a link to our most current issue of The Spark, our weekly bulletin insert.
In 2013, The Flame goes to a quarterly publication schedule. Look for your first new and improved issue in March 2013. Two other email newsletters, "eNote from Rev. Todd Harris" and "Late Breaking News from FUMC Allen" are published on an as-needed basis. Our Youth Ministry sends out a weekly "Youth Newsletter."

How can I communicate my event?
The sooner we know about your event, the more often we can tell people about it!
All events must be approved by FUMC Allen staff and booked in our church calendar before the event can be promoted. For more information on how to book a space or event at the church, contact your ministry's staff liaison.
Once an major event is approved, you can contact Alison Thomas, FUMC Allen's communication director, to develop a communication plan and schedule. A major event is defined as any event that occurs less than once a month.
How do I submit articles to your newsletters?
We publish timely information in our weekly enewsletter, This Week at FUMC Allen. Please submit your articles (150 words or less) on the 20th day of each month, our monthly promotions deadline, to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking for submissions of events that are happening at least three months out (i.e. on the February 20 deadline, we would expect to see events dating March 20 to May 20).
Content from our weekly worship bulletin is also emailed in this weekly eblast. If you miss the monthly promotions deadline, you can email your submissions to email@example.com by Friday, 5:00pm, nine (9) calendar days before the Sunday distribution. Email submissions in your email message (no attachments, please). Articles in the bulletin will run no more than 2 consecutive weeks and are typically edited down to 25 words or less.
The Flame is a bimonthly magazine designed to tell the story of events and groups that happen or meet in our church. We distribute this magazine both online and in print. If you would like to have your idea/story considered for inclustion in this publication, please email Alison Thomas.
Early submissions help us to publicize your major churchwide event outside the walls of the church via Facebook, Twitter, and other media resources. For assistance in creating a marketing plan for your special event, contact Communications Director, Alison Thomas, 972.727.8261 x214.

What do I do if I change my email address?
Send us an email to update your email address in our church's database. Or you can follow the directions below to update your email address via our church membership database via Engaging Online, FUMC Allen's secure online access to your church member data.
To update your email address for our weekly emails, which are sent via our database housed with Constant Contact, please find the latest email newsletter you've received from the church. Scroll down to the end of that email and click on the link that says "Update Profile/Email Address" to access your subscription controls. You can change your salutation, your email address, and your newsletter subscriptions.
How do I log in to Engaging Online?
If you have not logged into EngagingOnline recently, please remember the following guidelines:
- User Name: FirstNameLastName (example, JohnSmith)
- If you have forgotten your password, click on Forgot my password.
- Your login is associated with the most current email address you have on file with the church. If your email has changed since your last login, you will need to contact the church by clicking Update Your Email Address.
- If you are not a church member or have never used EngagingOnline, simply select Need a login? Click here. Complete the information and continue your registration.
How do I schedule an event at the church?
Ministry Events: Download and complete the Ministry Scheduling Worksheet and return it to your ministry's staff liaison. Scroll down this page to find your staff liaison's email address.
Non-Ministry Events: Download and complete the Non-Ministry Scheduling Worksheet , attach to an email and return to Church AdministratorLarry Wright.

Does FUMC Allen have an inclement weather policy?
In anticipation of winter weather, FUMC Allen has established closing procedures in the event of dangerous conditions due to snow or ice. On weekdays during the public school year, FUMC Allen follows the closing decisions of the Allen ISD. Under most circumstances, a decision to close or delay school due to bad weather is made by 6:00am or earlier, according to the Allen ISD's inclement weather policy.
If schools are closed, the church is closed and all daytime activities are cancelled. The closing announcement will first be posted on the FUMC Allen website at www.fumcallen.org and on our church's Facebook page. WFAA (Channel 8) television will be notified. However, because of the delay in posting is often delayed, our web site will be the fastest source of information.If school openings are delayed, we will delay opening the church and Children's Creative Playday Preschool. During the evenings, weekend, and times school is not in session, visit our website for details. Subscribers to FUMC Allen's email newsletters will also receive an e-mail alert. We ask that members and guests not call the church office about church closings and program cancellations as we will be heading home to work remotely.
