What is Sunday like at FUMC Allen?
Sunday starts with worship.
Daybreak Worship meets at 8:15am with a service that sets the tone for the day. The music is modern and upbeat with guitars and drum and a variety of music teams leading the worship experience. The message of Jesus is authentically presented in a way that is relevant to your everyday life. The talks are meaningful and uplifting, often with a little humor thrown in.
At 9:30am, our Traditional Worship features the great hymns of our faith and choral music by the Chancel Choir accompanied by our newly formed orchestra. This service includes acts of praise, confession, thanksgiving, proclamation, creeds of the Church, and dedication. Sermons are biblically based and seek to emphasize spiritual growth and Christian service.
At 11:00am, we offer a Contemporary Worship service where we praise God through music, connect with God through prayer, learn about God through scripture and sermon, and experience creative ways of connecting what we learn and how we live through the use of multimedia and contemporary Christian music led by the Praise Team.
On Sunday evenings, we offer a variety of Bible studies for adults. Children can attend music classes ranging from choir to percussion. Our youth start the afternoon with orchestra, choir rehearsal, and/or Bible study followed by a snack supper and worship.
What does FUMC Allen offer for my children?
Children and youth are welcome at all worship services. Most Sunday worship includes a special children's time that takes the pastor's sermon and presents it at a level that meets a child's understanding.
We offer Sunday school at the 9:30am and 11:00am hours where children learn more about the Bible and their faith. Nursery is open throughout the morning for children ages two and younger.
Youth Sunday school classes meet in the youth wing at 9:30am and 11:00am with classes established for each grade level.
