Mission & Community Service

In grateful response to God’s love for us, guided by the Holy Spirit through prayer, we will strive to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ by SERVING our neighbors, around the corner and around the world.

At FUMC Allen, we offer many opportunities to serve God by serving in our church, in our community, and in our world. Our members and guests support the efforts of Angel Food Ministries, Allen Community Outreach, Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Legal Aid, Project Transformation, Scouting, Juntos Servimos, Send Hope and more.

In the Community

Not only does our Military Support Group provide support for our church families with loved ones in the armed forces, but they also conduct an annual Christmas Stocking Drive for our soldiers overseas each fall.

Four Sundays per year, the Red Cross mobile unit arrives at the church to accept blood donations during the worship and Sunday school hours. Click here to find the next available date and make your appointment.

Sponsored by the Legal Services of Northwest Texas, the Legal Aid program provides pro-bono servies with civil cases for qualified applicants on the second Thursday of each month.

Each fall, the Collin County Health Department conducts a flu shot clinic as a preventative health care event for children, youth, adults, and seniors.

Project Transformation is a day camp program hosted at 14 inner city churches in the Dallas area. Children who take part in this program often come from broken, low income families who would be at home by themselves or with siblings, eating whatever they can find, which is often not much. At the day camp, children experience the love of God through the interns and volunteers, doing crafts, reading one-on-one, bible stories, play time learning different sports/games as well as getting a nutritious balanced breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Allen Community Outreach is the only human services agency serving Allen, Lucas, and Fairview. We have supported ACO for many years, both financially and with our service.

Habitat for Humanity is a  nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Boy Scouts of America FUMC Allen is the charter organization for Boy Scout Troop 306, which meets on Mondays at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall, and Boy Scout Troop 328, which meets on Tuesdays at 7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. More than a dozen cub scout dens meet in the church building each week.

Girl Scouts of America is an intregal part of the ministry at FUMC Allen with more than a dozen troops meeting in the building each month.

Kairos Outside supports female members of families who have or have had loved ones incarcerated in county, state or federal correctional facilities, as well as county jails and youth offender programs. These women often "do time" right along with their incarcerated relatives/friends. It is important for them to know that they are not alone and that there is a Christian Community that cares about them.

Around the World

Gideons International provides scripture around the world, in a host of different languages, to share the word of God with others.

Send Hope is a mission effort founded by church member, Dr. Tom Brian, serving the people of the Moskito Coast of Honduras.

Juntos Servimos (Together We Serve) is a volunteer organization that provides medical care, food, construction, and education in the colonias of Matamoros, Mexico.
